This year's European Day of Languages takes place, in Lewis Girls' School on the 26th September 2014. It is a time when we can celebrate the many different languages of Europe and learn about the cultures and foods of the different countries.
Take a look at the many activities that you can get involved in.

DESIGN A POSTER COMPETITION
Can you design a poster for The European Day of Languages?
All entries need to be handed in to the French Department by 22nd of September, so get your paints or felt-tips out.
DRESS UP IN TRADITIONAL COSTUMES
Why not enter into the spirit of the day by dressing up in a traditional costume? Remember this isn't a day for jeans, so it is traditional costume or school uniform.
There will be a 50 pence voluntary contribution.
You can win yourself a teddy bear if you can tell us where he came from.
These will be in the colours of the flags of Europe.
Try out some food that you may not have experienced before. Tell us what you think.
People from other countries are more confident speaking other languages than we are in Britain. Do you agree with this comment?
